This ceremony marked the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/2022\/06\/23\/title-ix-50-anniversary\/\">50th anniversary <\/a>of the landmark Title&nbsp;IX&nbsp;legislation (1972) that Mink championed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\" id=\"attachment_161187\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/system-title-ix-ceremony-4-300x169.jpg\" alt=\"statue with lei\" class=\"wp-image-161187\" width=\"468\" height=\"264\"\/><figcaption>Patsy T. It forces fairness of gender in recruitment, financial aid, admissions, housing, and athletics.
